This web site provides revision instructions for conditionally accepted completed research papers, research in progress (RIP) papers, teaching cases, and panels. Authors must comply with these requirements in order for their papers to be accepted for presentation at ICIS and for publication in the ICIS proceedings.
Please read and follow all the instructions on this page to ensure your revision meets all requirements. This page contains:
A) Important dates for authors,
B) Revision requirements for completed papers, RIP papers, and teaching cases,
C) Revision requirements for panels,
D) New this ICIS - An option to upload presentation videos
E) Author Agreement
| A. Important Dates for Authors |
Author Notification Date: Authors will be notified about whether their submission is conditionally accepted or rejected by Friday, July 30, 2010.
Author Revisions Due Date: Authors must have their final revisions submitted in the proper format to http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/icis2010 by Wednesday, September 8, 2010 by 11:59pm central time.
Author Notification of Accepted Revisions Date: Authors will be notified by September 30, 2010 whether their revision was accepted or not. Due to time constraints, we will not be able to invite a second round revisions, so it is vital that all authors address the required content changes identified by track chairs, AEs, and/or reviewers and that the authors comply fully with the formatting guidelines.
Author Registration Due Date: At least one author of every accepted submission and all members of every accepted panel must register for the conference by October 31, 2010.
Author Presentations at ICIS 2010 Dates: At least one author of every accepted submission and all members of every accepted panel must present at ICIS 2010 in St. Louis. Authors should be prepared to present their papers or panels at any time during the conference (Monday, December 13 to Wednesday, December 15). Failure to comply with this requirement can result in removal of such papers from the ICIS 2010 Proceedings. |
|
| B. General Revision Requirements |
Originality: All authors have already signed the AIS Author Agreement. As a reminder, papers accepted to ICIS 2010 must be original; papers cannot have been published or accepted in a journal or conference proceedings, nor presented at another conference. Further, papers must not be currently under consideration for publication or presentation elsewhere.
Proceedings Template: Because papers are published in the digital ICIS proceedings, all submissions must use the revisions template. Please note this is a different template from the one used for initial submission and we strongly recommend you start fresh with this one. Instructions for using the template are provided on the ICIS 2010 instructions document. Files submitted in other word processing formats or that do not use this template will not be considered for publication in the ICIS Proceedings.
Revisions Formatting Requirements. Authors enter the submission title, abstract, keywords, and author information in the menus prompted by Manuscript Central as well as in the body of the revised manuscript. The body of the submission (including text, figures, tables, and references) should be stored in one file in Microsoft® Word .DOC format or Microsoft ® Word .DOCX format and must use the revisions template provided on the ICIS 2010 web site. Instructions for using the template are provided in the ICIS 2010 instructions document. Files submitted in other word processing formats or that do not use this template will not be considered. Any submission that deviates from formatting requirements will be rejected without consideration.
Length Requirements:
Please note the change in policy this year. We extended the maximum page limits for the completed research papers, RIP papers, and teaching cases during the revision cycle. Our logic is that most revisions ask for more information and most submissions were already at their maximum limit. For revisions:
- Completed Research Paper Page Limit Requirements: Completed research papers must not exceed sixteen (16) single-spaced pages and must conform to the ICIS 2010 revisions template and follow the instructions document. The 16 pages must include all text, figures, tables, and appendices. The cover page, abstract, keywords, and references are excluded from this page count.
- Research-in-Progress Page Limit Requirements: Research-in-progress papers must not exceed 8 single-spaced pages and must conform to the ICIS 2010 revisions template and follow the instructions document. The 8 pages must include all text, figures, tables, and appendices. The cover page, abstract, keywords, and references are excluded from this page count.
- Teaching Case Page Limit Requirements: The teaching case must not exceed sixteen (16) single-spaced pages. The teaching case must conform to the ICIS 2010 revisions template and follow the instructions document. The page limits include all text, figures, tables, and appendices for the teaching case. The cover page, abstract, keywords, and references are excluded from these page limits. Please note: Only the teaching case will be published, not the teaching note. PLEASE DO NOT SUBMIT THE TEACHING NOTE IN YOUR REVISION. Please indicate in the teaching case which author instructors should contact to obtain the teaching note.
How to Submit Revisions: All revisions are to be made via the ICIS 2010 system at http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/icis2010.
To submit your revised manuscript, log into http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/icis2010 and enter your Author Center, where you will find your manuscript title listed under "Manuscripts with Decisions." Under "Actions," click on "Create a Revision."
This action will take you through a 6-step process, similar to your original submission process. As part of this process, you can respond to the review team’s comments in a space provided on the screen; you can use this space to document any changes you made to the original manuscript. In order to expedite the processing of the revised manuscript, be as specific as possible in your responses to your review team. When you get to Step 5 of the process, you will need to delete your original submission and upload your new submission (as a camera-ready document). Once you complete the whole resubmission process by "Submitting" after Step 6, your manuscript number will be appended with R1 to denote a revision and your manuscript will be ready for track chairs.
Number and Order of Authors: During submission of your revised manuscript you will have a chance (the last) to verify the author names and order etc. which you entered in the Manuscript Central System. These names and affiliations will be used to create cover pages for the proceedings. Please note that these are different from the Word document. So, please make sure you have double checked the author information and other manuscript meta data BEFORE submitting your revision.
Please note that once a manuscript has been submitted to the online submission system it CANNOT be altered, amended, changed, corrected, edited, or revised. Once a revision has been made, it is final. One can, however, upload a manuscript and not submit. Such manuscripts can be altered and re-uploaded until they are submitted. To be considered for ICIS 2010, manuscripts must be submitted by the deadline listed above.
Figures: All figures and illustrations must be inserted into your Word .DOC or Word .DOCX file as either JPG or GIF format (other formats or embedded graphic objects will not convert to PDF correctly). For more instructions regarding figures, please see revisions template.
Track Changes Feature must be Off: Be certain to accept all changes and turn track changes “off” before uploading your paper to the ICIS 2010 Review System.
Author Identification: Authors may now include their names, institutions, sponsors, references to unpublished work, and acknowledgements in revisions.
Copyright Note: For all papers accepted into ICIS 2010, authors of accepted papers will retain copyright. However, by submitting a paper, authors do agree that AIS can publish and reproduce any accepted papers in the ICIS 2010 proceedings in the format of AIS' choosing (CDs, e-Library and printed proceedings) under an established ISBN number for ICIS 2010. |
|
| C. Revision Requirements for Panels |
| A five page panel statement is published in the ICIS proceedings. Please be sure your panel statement conforms to the formatting requirements found in the panels revision template. |
|
| D. New This ICIS - An Option to Upload Presentation Videos |

Scholars submitting papers to this conference thereby attest that they have read the AIS Code of Research Conduct and the work submitted is in accordance with the Code in all appropriate respects. Editors of AIS conference proceedings who receive allegations of plagiarism or other scholarly misconduct may inform the AIS President who may refer the matter, at their discretion, to the AIS Research Conduct Committee.
The author(s) verify that this paper (or substantial portions of it) is not under review, accepted, or published elsewhere. They further verify that they have read and followed the ICIS 2010 Submission Guidelines, available at http://icis2010.aisnet.org/revisions.htm.
If this submission is accepted, the author(s) also agree that at least one author of this submission will register and present at the ICIS 2010 conference. If a panel is accepted, all authors must register and present at the ICIS 2010 conference.
