Q: I am not a member of AIS, can I attend the conference?
A: The ICIS conference is only open to current members of AIS. However, you may join AIS as part of your conference registration. For more information about AIS, or to become a member, visit our website at www.aisnet.org.
Q: Do I have to be an AIS member to register for the SIG and Ancillary meetings?
A: You do not have to be an AIS member to register for the SIG and Ancillary meetings. For online registration, just select the SIG/Ancillary Event Option Only and proceed with your registration. If you submit your registration via fax, please indicate on the form which SIG/Ancillary meeting(s) you would like to attend.
Q: Can I pay after I attend the conference?
A: Registration forms can not be processed until payment is received in full.
Q: Can I skip the Social Event to lower the registration fee?
A: Yes, you can choose to skip the Social Event on Tuesday, December 14, 2010 and save $65 off your registration fee. To do so, simply enter the code “NOSOCIAL” during checkout under online registration and the $65 discount will be automatically applied to your registration (this cannot be combined with any other discounts). Please note that the opening Sunday Night Reception to be held at the The Gateway Arch is still included in the conference registration even if you skip the Tuesday night Social.
Q: I am participating in the Doctoral Consortium (DC), are membership fees included in my registration?
A: Students attending the DC pay the DC registration fee ($365, regardless when they register.) If the student is not already an AIS member, they will be provided with a complimentary one-year student membership. If they are already a member, then their attendance at the DC does not change their membership status. Their current membership will expire as scheduled.
Q: Can I register and pay onsite?
A: We accept personal checks, traveler’s checks, VISA, MasterCard and American Express. Registration badges will not be issued until payment is made in full. Due to space limitations, we strongly encourage all participants to register and pay in advance. Early registration fees are offered at a discounted rate.
Q: I am an Institutional Member or Academic Sponsor designee. How do I register?
A: Contact Membership Manager at membership@aisnet.org to verify your eligibility; thereafter, the conference registrar will forward a promo code for you to use for online registration. You can also submit your form via fax +1 (404) 240-0998 or email it to registrar@aisnet.org. Once your status has been verified, the conference registrar will process your registration.
Q: What’s the last day for conference registration?
A: The conference registration will remain open until the end of the conference which is December 15, 2010.
Q: What is the refund policy for conference registration cancellations?
A: Requests for refund or cancellation must be in writing via email, fax or mail and are subject to the following schedule: Received by October 31, full refund less $25 administrative fee; received by December 3, full refund less $50 administrative fee; received by the AIS office on December 4, or later are ineligible for a refund. Substitutions are permitted.
Q: What is the recommended attire for the conference?
A: Conference attire will be casual and comfortable. Please note, however, that St. Louis weather in December is typically quite cold. Check here for the current weather conditions before you pack.
Q: What if I’d like to bring a guest?
A: Guest tickets are available for the full conference or the social events only. You can pay for your guest ticket in advance or purchase them at the conference.
Q: I have special dietary needs; how can I request special meals?
A: We are happy to honor your special dietary needs. Please indicate your request on your registration form prior to the conference. All special dietary requests must be made prior to the conference itself; requests made on site may not be honored.
Q: Are the conference proceedings included in my registration?
A: The conference proceedings will be available on the AIS E-library.
Q: I need a Visa to travel. How do I obtain a letter of invitation?
A: Complete the Letter of Invitation form and email it to the AIS Registration at registrar@aisnet.org. Please be informed that you will have to pay the registration fee in advance before you will receive a letter of invitation. As visa requirements can take several weeks, attendees should be advised to apply no later than 2 months prior to the conference.
Q: I don’t have a credit card, can I pay by bank transfer?
A: Contact the AIS Conference Registrar at registrar@aisnet.org to receive bank transfer instructions. Upon completion of the transfer, fax or email the registration form and proof of the transfer to the AIS office for processing.
